San Diego Hospice Nurses say…
“We use Diana’s tapes for Pain Management. All of her Comfort Series cassettes have a calming effect on our terminally ill patients. Her reassuring prayers give them hope and help them not to be so afraid of the dying process”. ~ Mary Lee Sheflo and Yvonne Maybery, Hospice Nurses.
A Hospice Surviving Family Member “There was not a night that my dear, young sister , who was dying of cancer, did not go to sleep without listening to your tapes for comfort. That was usually how I put her to bed." Her last six weeks were spent at Holy Family Cancer Home here in Cleveland , and they also came to use these tapes for Kathy, as well as others. I gave two tapes to the nuns here after my sister died. They were extremely grateful, and will use them to help others.” ~ Donna Cardilino
A Minister's Report:
I was at the bedside of a friend of mine who was actively dying. She was struggling to breathe, trying to stay alive. I put on HEAVENLY ASSURANCE VOCAL, and my friend immediately calmed down. Such peace filled the room. She was able to surrender, release, and feel the beauty of dying. The music also consoled the family and me. It was a true blessing from God." ~ Reverend Tammy Miller
Calming Affect for Huntington's Disease
Rhonald Lucas had Huntington's disease. The last month of his life, his behavior was so erratic that the hospice nurses were afraid he was going to throw himself out of bed. Rhon's sister, Donna, brought the tape, COMFORTING LOVE, for him to hear. The results were dramatic. His body movement and his breathing completely calmed down after listening to this tape for one hour.
Rhon had always accepted his disease process, but the music enabled him to have total peace and calmness. It helped him with his fear of closing his eyes and going to sleep. His sister would sing along with this tape whenever she visited him, and this helped him with his fears as well. Rhon's hospice nurses discovered his erratic body movement returned whenever the tape was not playing. Whenever it was time for them to bathe him, they put the tape on and sang along with it. The calming affect of this music was extremely therapeutic for all involved.
Jimmy Graham was diagnosed with cancer in 1995. In January of 1997, his wife began playing "COMFORTING LOVE" and "HEAVENLY ASSURANCE VOCAL" for her husband. He passed away the end of February, 1997. There were times Jimmy felt unloved by God due to his illness. He experienced feelings of unworthiness, fear, and doubt. The tapes calmed his spirit and helped him with his fears concerning the dying process. They reassured him of God's love for him. Jimmy wanted to hear them repeatedly. Jimmy had a seizure ten days before he died which left him unable to speak. He just kept pointing to the cassette player so he could hear the tapes.
Lynette had cervical cancer, and was only 34 years old. She died in July, 1994. She is survived by her husband and two children. As you can imagine, Lynette had a lot of fear. PROTECTING LOVE was written to bring comfort to those feeling fearful or weary.
